Athletic Focus:
D Team’s athletic focus is on coordination skills, specifically hand and eye coordination, stamina and overall player strength.
Developmental Focus:
D Team’s developmental focus is on football basics and fundamentals: proper blocking, tackling and ball handling. As well as developing the love for football
Coach Desmond Mitchell, lovingly called Coach Des, is native of Baton Rouge Louisiana, and attended LSU’s engineering program. Coach Des fell in love with football back when he was a youth himself and has continued throughout his adult life. He played for the Semi-Pro team, Baton Rouge Bandits, and the Panda’s, a BREC Flag Football Team. With the birth of his sons, Desmond II in 2012 and Ashton in 2015, he was excited to introduce his love of not only sports, but especially football to his two boys. He began his coaching career with the Zachary Jr Broncos in 2016 under the direction of Head Coach Jamaal Mason. His passion for football has radiated to each player he meets. Looking forward to another season, Head Coach Des is excited for the new year and new potential to bring home the trophy.
